Texan Grocer H-E-B Scouts for Israeli Startups

A delegation of H-E-B executives met with more than 20 Israeli tech companies during their week-long visit to the country last week

A delegation of executives from Texan supermarket chain HEB Grocery Company LP, known as H-E-B, visited Israel last week to meet with more than 20 Israeli tech companies, H-E-B announced Sunday. The company is looking for possible partnerships with Israeli retail tech startups.

 

H-E-B representatives met with companies including mobile shopping startup SuperUp, retail tech startup IntraPosition Ltd., and data analytics startup Weezmo Ltd., among others. Paul Tepfenhart, H-E-B’s senior vice president of omnichannel emerging technology and innovation, led the delegation’s week-long visit.

 

HEB operates 400 stores in Texas and Mexico and employs more than 116,000 people, according to the company’s website.

 

The visit was arranged by Israeli startup networking company Sellonet Limited.
