HELLA Partners with Air-Quality Data Company BreezoMeter
The German auto part maker teamed up with Israel-based BreezoMeter to create a cloud-based air quality management system for autonomous cars
As possible applications the system may suggest to the drivers alternative routes with less pollution, prompt drivers with alerts suggesting the car’s windows should be closed, or turn on the air condition, BreezoMeter’s chief marketing officer Ziv Lautman said in a press release.
Forecasts are that car models planned to get to the market in 2019 will have air quality systems, he added. "Car emission regulators are pressuring car makers, who must find solutions for emissions and their health implications,” Mr. Lautman said.
Founded in 2014 in Haifa, a port city in the north of Israel, BreezoMeter developed an air quality data collection and analysis system that provides location-specific data to companies in industries such as smart homes, automotive, healthcare and fitness.
Based in Lippstadt, Germany, HELLA develops and manufactures lighting and electronic components for the automotive industry.
