“We speak the same language,” says OurCrowd’s new UAE-based Venture Partner

OurCrowd CEO Jon Medved spoke with newly appointed Head of the Gulf Region, Dr. Sabah-al Binali, who told him about some of the ways that the new normalization between Israel and the UAE is “linking two hemispheres.” Notably, he told the CEO about all the ways that the two nations can form professional relations and establish long-lasting business opportunities.

“Both countries are used to striking partnerships,” Binali said. “This is not new. What’s new is the market. We speak the same language, we know how to negotiate and I see that accelerating.”

He explained that the Emiratis are entrepreneurial in nature, and while they come at it in different ways than the Israelis do, bringing these two cultures together will unlock a lot of business and trade between Israel and the UAE, and ultimately the entire easter hemisphere.

“This is the new silk route that is going to be a great addition to global business,” he said.

In October, Dr. al-Binali joined OurCrowd to oversee the development of its business in the Gulf and meet the growing business demand following the signing of the Abraham Accords.
