“Jerusalem is a city about an old city and new media,” Erel Margalit told CTech when speaking at JerusalemTech in Israel’s capital. “It’s a city of contrasts, it’s a city where a lot of people are very passionate about many things. In politics sometimes you see that tension bring things down. And what we’re trying to do in technology is that we’re trying to bring these differences and create a sense of innovation.”

JerusalemTech saw the meeting of entrepreneurs, artists, and storytellers come together after 15 months of lockdowns to celebrate the opening of the capital city. Margalit, who is the Founder & Executive Chairman at JVP and Margalit Startup City, expects big things to come from the city in the next few years

“Innovation occurs when differences come together. Artists, scientists, engineers, storytellers, Arabs, Jews, secular, religious... this is a different kind of innovation and the thing we love about the city is that once you are willing to bring the differences together, and do things together, this city has power like no other city.”
