Israeli Antitrust Authority Indicts Four in Video Game Pricing Scam
Four gaming store managers are accused of using a Whatsapp chat group dubbed “Israel’s Suckers” to coordinate prices of popular video games and consoles in the country
The Israeli antitrust authority on Thursday filed an indictment against four gaming store managers who allegedly coordinated prices of gaming consoles and popular video games using a Whatsapp group chat dubbed “Israel’s Suckers.” The four managers allegedly coordinated the prices of PlayStation 4, Xbox 1, and FIFA 17. Only a handful of importers and a few dozen distributors are active in Israel’s gaming market, where consoles and video games are often sold for as much as double their original prices.
