Pennsylvania-based healthcare system WellSpan Health has partnered with Tel Aviv-based Sweetch Health Ltd., a startup developing an artificial-intelligence-based health and risk assessment app for chronic conditions, the two announced Wednesday. The app, which will be made available to WellSpan’s 15,000 employees, among them primary care and specialty physicians and advanced practice clinicians, will be used to augment WellSpan’s diabetes treatment program, according to the statement.

Founded in 2013, Sweetch previously raised $3.5 million from Jerusalem-based equity crowdfunding company OurCrowd Ltd., Philips Health Technology Ventures, Pontifax Venture Capital and Tel Aviv-based venture capital firm LionBird (Ventures) Ltd., according to Pitchbook data.
