In August, Calcalist reported ColorChip was negotiating its acquisition by Shanghai-listed Sanan Optoelectronics Co. Ltd., a Chinese chip designer and manufacturer of LED components and radio chips.
Privately held ColorChip designs and manufactures communication components for telecom providers and data centers. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in northern Israeli town Yokne'am Illit, ColorChip held its latest funding round in April 2017, raising a $37 million Series F.
