Wix Unveils Plans for New 50,000-Square-Meter Tel Aviv Headquarters

The website building company plans to invest $80 million into the new space, located on the beach in Herzliya Pituach, on the border with Tel Aviv

Nasdaq-listed website building company Wix.com Ltd. announced its plans to build a new 50,000-square-meter-headquarters and campus in Tel Aviv on Wednesday. The new headquarters is part of a larger commercial development being built on the beach in Herzliya Pituach, just outside of Tel Aviv, at a cost of NIS 1.5 billion (approximately $418 million), a company spokesperson for Canada Israel Ltd., the real estate company developing the project, told Calcalist Wednesday.

The new development will replace Wix's current headquarters in the old Tel Aviv port area as soon as 2022, Wix said. Wix expects to invest $80 million in the new space over a two-and-a-half-year period, according to the company’s statement.

The campus is under construction, the Canada Israel spokesperson said.

 

Founded in 2006, Wix offers users an automated website building service using customizable templates. While a basic website is free, advanced options like removing ads, using a customized domain, or creating email campaigns are only available for paying customers. The company touts over 151 million registered users and employs 2,600 people.
