CEO of Tel Aviv-listed Fantasy Network Ltd. Dani Zadok physically attacked a board member during a board meeting recess, the company announced in a filing to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Monday. Following the incident, Zadok asked the company’s executive team to take a 14-day leave of absence, the filing said.

According to several people who spoke with Calcalist on condition of anonymity, Zadok reacted badly to questions raised by board members at a meeting last week, eventually attacking board member Shimon Cohen and threatening him with a chair. The incident took place after Zadok had been hospitalized for a few days due to health issues, the people said.

Fantasy Network has gone through many changes over the past two years. In October 2017, the company announced it would sell its fantasy sports division to employees, essentially becoming a shelf company. In December that same year, as blockchain stock hype took over the Tel Aviv exchange, the company announced it had hired a blockchain advisor, sending its stock up 44% by that day’s market close and an additional 80% the next day. Since then, the company has pivoted to medical cannabis. In September, the company announced a memorandum of understanding to invest $400,000 in Cbdigital Ltd., a company that markets cannabinoid products online.
