Lior Weizman to Head of SAP’s Tel Aviv Accelerator

In September, SAP.IO Foundry announced the seven startups selected for its first cohort

SAP.IO, the early-stage venture arm of multinational enterprise software company SAP SE, has appointed Lior Weizman as director of its Tel Aviv-based accelerator program, SAP.IO Foundry, Weizman announced in a LinkedIn post Tuesday. In September, SAP.IO announced the seven startups selected for its first cohort.

 

As part of the 12-week program, participating companies receive mentorship and access to SAP’s data, technology, and customer base. SAP already operates its foundry program in Paris, Berlin, Munich, New York City, San Francisco, and Tokyo.

Prior to joining SAP.IO earlier this month, Weizman worked as a director of technology scouting services at accounting firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd., and was the head of IBM’s AlphaZone Accelerator.

 

SAP first established a presence in Israel in 1998, with the opening of research and development centers in both Tel Aviv and central Israeli city Raanana. In 2017, SAP bought Israel-based customer identity management company Gigya Inc.
