On the heels of its $53.5 million Series D funding round, SafeBreach, which has developed a breach and attack simulation platform, has announced that it has expanded its leadership team by adding Avishai “Avi” Avivi as Chief Information Security Officer.

In his new role, Avivi will work at the CTO office, and work closely with the sales, marketing, customer success, product, and R&D teams to ensure the company’s cybersecurity strategy meets the evolving needs of its customers and the market. Avivi will oversee areas including incident response, security policies and procedures, threat intelligence, information governance, and more.

Avivi arrives at SafeBreach with nearly 30 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry. Previously, he served in Unit 8200 Unit of the Israel Defense Forces, and later gained extensive experience with development, network engineering, pre- and post-sales engineering, professional services, business development, architecture, and consulting through leadership roles at Palo Alto Networks, Wells Fargo, E*TRADE, Draft Security, and more.

SafeBreach’s platform automatically executes thousands of attack methods to validate network, endpoint, cloud, container, and email security controls against its Hacker’s Playbook, a collection of attack data broken down by methods, tactics, and threat actors.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Avivi to the team,” said Itzik Kotler, CTO and Co-founder of SafeBreach. “His deep infosec and cyber experience prove that he’s the right person to drive value for our customers and the broader security community.”

“It’s an exciting time to join SafeBreach, an industry leader with the most comprehensive coverage against cyber threats old and new,” said Avivi. “Working with SafeBreach in my previous companies, I have gained deep insight into the platform and the immense value it can provide any CISO.”
