London-listed online gambling company Playtech wins contract with Polish national lottery provider. As part of the contract, Playtech will supply state-owned Totalizator Sportowy with its online casino platform, game portfolio and marketing and consulting services. In 2017, Poland instituted a new online gambling regime, in line with other European countries, making online gambling games like Casino, Poker and Bingo legal—as long as they are offered by Totalizator Sportowy. Multinational IT company UST Global names Israel its global cybersecurity center. In an interview with Calcalist, UST Global chairman Paras Chandaria said that the company’s recently launched Tel Aviv development and service center will handle all of UST Global’s cybersecurity activity. Online genealogy company MyHeritage launches campaign to connect adoptees and birth families. MyHeritage will provide 15,000 of its DNA testing kits for free, prioritizing people that are not able to afford the service on their own. Currently, participation is open only to U.S. residents with regards to adoptions that took place in the U.S. Read more

 

Behavioral biometrics company BioCatch appoints Howard Edelstein as CEO. The American entrepreneur was formerly the CEO of Thomson Financial ESG, Radianz, NYFIX and BondDesk Group. He has served as chairman of BioCatch’s board since 2016. BioCatch is a Tel Aviv-headquartered cybersecurity company that uses behavioral biometrics and human-device interaction analyses to protect users and data in banks and similar enterprises. Red Bull teams up with automated broadcasting company Pixellot to stream volleyball tournament. Pixellot’s automated production and broadcast technologies use a customized system of cameras and software capable of monitoring and broadcasting the flow of sporting events. Paying subscribers are able to receive a live-stream of the tournament games to any device, access additional content such as behind the scenes footage and interviews, and create and share personal game highlights.
