Educational Games Startup TinyTap Raises $5 Million
TinyTap offers an application that enables teachers and parents to create custom educational mobile games
TinyTap offers teachers and parents an application on which they can create custom educational mobile games. The company then offers the games created on its platform to users worldwide through subscriptions, sharing the revenues with the developers. TinyTap said it offers 150,000 games in 24 languages. The company was founded in 2012 and has raised $9.5 million to date.
"TinyTap was created out of my own personal needs,” CEO Yogev Shelly said in a statement. “I wanted to help my dad, who was diagnosed with dementia, hold on to his memories by turning his family photos into interactive, personalized activities.”
In a statement, the company said it will use the funding to launch new learning programs in Mandarin, Arabic, and Spanish.
