Metadata Management Startup Octopai Raises $4.5 Million

Israel-based metadata management startup Octopai B.I. Ltd. has raised $4.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Israel-linked venture capital firm North First Ventures, Octopai announced Sunday. Israel-based venture capital firms iAngels Crowd Ltd. and US Israel Gefen Capital Management Ltd., as well as existing investors Moneta Seeds Management Company Ltd. and Club100 Plus Communication Investments Ltd. also participated in the round.

 

Founded in 2015, Octopai develops a machine learning-based technology that automatically manages and maps metadata collected across a company’s various information systems, using a single searchable interface.

 

Octopai has 20 employees in offices in Rosh HaAyin, a town in central Israel, and in New York and has raised $5.5 million to date, according to Pitchbook data.
