Tel Aviv Suburb Becomes Unlikely Hub for Smart Mobility
On Sunday, electric scooter-sharing company Bird became the third company to offer on-demand personal vehicles in the Israeli town of Ramat Gan
Los Angeles-headquartered electric scooter-sharing company Bird Rides Inc. has begun operating in Ramat Gan, a suburban town at the outskirts of Tel Aviv, the company announced Sunday. Bird is the third company to offer smart mobility services in the town, making it an unlikely hub for alternative transportation services.

In September, bike-sharing company Beijing Mobike Technology Co. Ltd. launched its service in Ramat Gan, three months after Ofo, a similar Beijing-based service, announced it was discontinuing its pilot in the town, pulling out of Israel altogether.

Both Moibke and Bird are already available in the neighboring Tel Aviv, where the city also offers its own bike-sharing service, Tel-O-Fun.

In September, citing a wanted ad posted by the company, Calcalist reported that San Mateo, California-headquartered bike and scooter-sharing company Lime is looking to enter the Israeli market.
