How does Amdocs break unconscious bias in its recruitment?

“There is almost an unconscious bias, which by the way is the theme we are using for this International Women’s Day,” explained Amalia Avramov, President at Amdocs Financial Services. “Even we women, we sometimes put the barriers in our heads, but also men that are in leadership roles, even if they do not know it, or when you put a gun to their head, they’ll say they're not biased. But there is an unconscious bias in the way we perceive the ‘softness’ that women have as less leadership, while ‘assertiveness’ that men have is perceived as more leadership.”
According to Avramov, this challenge is the head of their efforts this Women’s Day. “That’s what we touch on this Women’s Day, with a lot of focus on how we make sure that any decision we make, whether in a male manager or a junior woman, breaks the unconscious bias.”
She continued: “We have to make sure at the end of the day, we are driving diversity and inclusion. This is the top value for us as a company and I encourage other leaders and companies to think the same.”
