Hamilton Lane launches evergreen funds in Israel to provide new access to private markets
The funds offer unique structures that grant Israeli investors access to a diverse existing portfolio in the private markets enjoyed in overseas regions such as Europe, the US, and Canada.
Investment firm Hamilton Lane announced at its Annual Investor Event 2025 that it is finalizing its latest move in Israel: bringing its evergreen fund offerings to local private investors. It is understood that this will provide new access to private markets and provide opportunities that, until now, were primarily available only to institutional investors.
“Most of you have probably invested in a private equity fund,” said Stephanie Davis, Managing Director and Co-Head of U.S Private Wealth Solutions, speaking to the crowd. “Today, there’s different innovation with new products, access points, and regulations. There is a lot of innovation in technology, helping democratise private markets. Evergreen funds show no signs of slowing down.”

Details of the plans were shared during a panel titled “The Big Revolution is Coming to Israel: Evergreen Funds by Hamilton Lane”. Davis shared the stage with Zoe Nakash, Managing Director, Israel, and Hagit Mozgar, Senior Associate, Israel, each of whom shared insights and predictions for how the year ahead will look for Israel amid ongoing war.
The firm highlighted that private investors elsewhere - notably Europe, the US, Canada, and Australia - have long benefited from higher returns through access to private markets. It now aims to bring those same opportunities to individual investors in Israel. These funds offer unique structures that grant investors access to a diverse existing portfolio in the private markets, with low minimum investments, no standard capital calls, and no multi-year commitments.
“Private wealth accounted for nearly half of the total assets under management. The growth potential is huge,” added Nakash. “Our annual survey asked what percentage of people plan to allocate to private markets: 60% wanted to invest 10% in private markets, which was 15% growth from last year’s survey.”
The trio each outlined several key advantages to evergreen funds, one of which was liquidity. Investors can buy in and redeem each month (subject to certain conditions), unlike closed-end funds, which often lock up capital for 10–12 years. Evergreen funds also offer operational simplicity: they can be purchased directly through banks in Israel and abroad using a single transfer with no future capital calls.
Hamilton Lane was among the first firms to develop and launch evergreen funds, having created its initial platform in 2019. “We have seen nearly 415 new funds between 2017 and 2023,” concluded Mozgar. “We think that the growth number could be as high as 30% in the next decade.”
Hamilton Lane was founded in 1991 and is a private markets investment management firm, the biggest in Israel for over 20 years. With over $958 billion in Assets Under Management and Supervision, it is the biggest allocator of private markets in the world. As of 2024, it has more than 2,330 clients and investors in over 50 countries. The company has 22 offices globally in Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and North America, whose workforce is made up of 49% female and minority employees. To date, Hamilton Lane has invested approximately $1.25 billion in Israeli venture capital and private equity funds - $250 million since the start of the war alone.
The Hamilton Lane Investor Event 2025 was held in Israel and highlighted some of the most noteworthy updates in the industry. It contained a fireside chat as well as opening remarks by Limor Beker, Head of Israel. There was also a discussion between Juan Delgado, Co-CEO, and Mario Giannini, Executive Co-Chairman, about President Trump, tariffs, and US and Global Markets.
Finally, the event concluded with a dinner and cocktails celebration, featuring an interview and performance by Yuval Raphael, Israel’s 2025 Eurovision Representative and Nova Festival Survivor.
