"I hope climatech is the future of technology in Israel and across the globe"

Amit Peri, Head of Israel at SE Ventures, spoke to CTech about some of this year’s most promising Israeli startups

“Historically, we see great startups coming out of Israel. Of course, Israel is well-known for cybersecurity, fintech, and agriculture for many years,” said Amit Peri, Head of Israel at SE Ventures. “But over the past few years, we see more talented founders and top talents coming out of either the military or top units, going into the most appealing places now in climatetech, renewable energies, or energy transformation. I hope this is the future of technology in Israel and the future of technology in general across the globe, making the place a bit greener as well.”
SE Ventures is a global venture capital fund backed by Schneider Electric. It is a 1 billion euro fund focusing on climate tech companies in Israel, Europe, and the U.S., typically investing an average of $5-15 million per investment. Peri joined CTech at an event celebrating Israel’s Most Promising Startups of 2024 and shared some insights about the culture of the country.
“You see the [startups] that are coming up in new names in the lists but there's still a few that have been building themselves over the past few years,” he added. “Once they see a good market fit and product fit into their markets they're able to grow. There's a few names on that list that have been around for the past 10 years or so and are now in that scale mode of hyperscaling and taking that real growth going forward.”
