ISRAEL AT WAR
Interactive map details October 7 massacres against Israelis

The 'Mapping the Massacres' website, created by anonymous developers, offers users the ability to click on each Israeli town impacted and access a brief description of the events that took place there. Colored dots on the map pinpoint the locations where Israelis were murdered or abducted.

An online interactive map depicting the sites of Hamas’ October 7 massacres has been launched. The website, called “Mapping the Massacres,” shows the sites of Hamas’ attack and allows users to “visit the attack sites,” including kibbutzim and towns, “learn the facts, and view the horrors,” according to the website. Every affected site contains a summary as well as color-coded dots that identify locations and individuals. The creator of the website remains unknown but it has been widely shared online, including by government spokesperson Eylon Levy.

The website states that for “clarity and coherent categorization” they have organized the incidents and victims based on the following categories: massacre epicenters or points of attacks including the Re’im Festival or Kibbutz Be’eri, border breaches, those murdered or killed on duty, those kidnapped or kidnap survivors, and missing persons.
In the About Us section of the website, it states that “the October 7th Geo-visualization Project strives to provide a comprehensive representation of the atrocities committed by Hamas on that day. This interactive map serves as a reflection and an educational tool, promoting awareness of the gravity of the horrors.”
There is also a disclaimer noting that the “data may contain inaccuracies or omissions, especially regarding location details, which might be refined as more concrete data becomes available. We welcome and value any contributions that can help enhance the accuracy and comprehensiveness of this project. Our initiative is a continuous journey towards sharing the story and remembering our national pain. If you have additional or corrective information, we warmly invite you to share it with us.”
Israel’s war against Hamas broke out on October 7 when thousands of Hamas terrorists broke through Israel’s border with Gaza, massacring hundreds of Israeli civilians inside Israeli territory. At least 1,400 Israelis were murdered, mainly civilians including children, women, and the elderly, with tactics reminiscent of ISIS. Thousands more were injured and about 240 people including women, children, babies, the elderly, and soldiers were abducted by Hamas into Gaza. In response, the IDF has been targeting Hamas infrastructure in Gaza for three weeks in an attempt to dismantle its rule.
