Nagomi Security raises $23 million Series A for proactive defense platform

The Israeli startup’s platform helps security teams prioritize the most urgent risks based on an organization's unique threat profile and provides prescriptive and actionable remediation plans to reduce threat exposure using existing tools

Nagomi Security, which has developed a proactive security and threat exposure management platform, has raised a $23 million Series A. The startup, founded in 2023, previously raised an unannounced $7 million Seed round. The company is backed by Team8 (which led its seed round) and TCV (which led the Series A), alongside strategic investors Crowdstrike and Okta.
Formerly known as Vena Security, Nagomi launched its flagship platform six months after forming, and crossed the $1 million ARR milestone while still in stealth mode. The company’s clients include the likes of IFF, HFW and WELL Health Technologies.

Nagomi was founded by Emanuel Salmona (CEO), Jonathan Meler (CPO) and Shai Mendel (CTO). Salmona was previously General Manager, EMEA at Claroty, Mendel was Director Of Engineering at Snyk, and Meler was one of the first employees at Demisto, acquired by Palo Alto Networks.
Nagomi’s Proactive Defense Platform enables customers to maximize the effectiveness of their security stacks to defend against emerging, relevant threats. The platform helps security teams prioritize the most urgent risks based on an organization's unique threat profile and provides prescriptive and actionable remediation plans to reduce threat exposure using existing tools.
“We have our sights set on solving one of the most pervasive problems in cybersecurity today,” said Emanuel Salmona, co-founder and CEO of Nagomi Security. “We’ve seen that over 80% of breaches occur at organizations that already had a tool in place to prevent it, and security teams are increasingly frustrated that they can’t be sure that the solutions they have deployed are protecting them against real threats. By mapping threats like ransomware, phishing, and other seen-in-the-wild campaigns and techniques, Nagomi shows security teams their level of protection and provides a plan of action to drive better defense.”
As part of today’s announcement, Nagomi also announced the addition of Nathan Burke as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) following a 6-year tenure as CMO at Axonius. Joseph Hoban also joined Nagomi as Vice President of Sales from Axonius. In addition, Morgan Gerlak, Partner at TCV, is joining Nagomi’s board of directors, serving alongside Nagomi’s founders and Team8 co-founders and Managing Partners, Liran Grinberg and Nadav Zafrir.
