“This is a pioneering conference that solidifies the bridge between Israel and Greece. One can say that our cultures are similar, because both of our countries have several similar characteristics. Even though Greece is part of Europe, it’s the most Middle Eastern country in Europe,” said Leon Avigad, founder and CEO of the Brown Hotels Group, during the Israel-Greece conference sponsored by Calcalist, Aroundtown SA, and the Brown Hotels Group which took place last week in Greece.
Avigad spoke of how the group was founded in Israel in 2010 but over the past four years has expanded and opened up over 50 branches in Greece.
“When we started a little over four years ago, there weren’t many foreign investors in Greece compared to how many there are today,” he continued, adding how some said that Greece could be the right place to invest in. “Today, we have support from the Greek government through new tax reform policies from which a lot can be learned,” he said.
