Anodot provides artificial intelligence-based data analytics to e-commerce, retail, internet and mobile enterprises, enabling real-time data tracking and performance improvement. The company was founded in 2014 by CEO David Drai, co-founder of content delivery network Cotendo Inc., Ira Cohen, former Chief Data Scientist at HP, and Shay Lang. The company, which has offices in Silicon Valley and central Israel, raised $27 million to date, $23 million of the sum in December.

Anodot and Waze had a limited commercial relationship previously, but this will be the first time Anodot's platform will be incorporated into Waze's popular app. Other Anodot clients include Microsoft, Foursquare, Lyft, and Wix.

Geographical location, seasonal factors, the day of the week and holidays or large events can all affect the way drivers use Waze, Mr. Drai told Calcalist in a Tuesday interview. What Anodot does for the company is use Waze's driver data and user experiences to analyze trends and provide actionable insights.

When choosing Anodot, Waze looked for a solution that will quickly raise the alarm regarding potential problems with app performance and user experience, said in a statement Orna Amir, analytics group manager at Waze.
