IBI's high-tech business nearly quintuples profit as private trading platform surges

IBI's Capital Group more than doubled revenue to NIS 131 million in the second quarter, while profit from its private-investor trading platform jumped 147%. Overall net profit rose 69% to NIS 95 million.

The high-tech business of investment house IBI increased both revenue and profit sharply in the second quarter of this year, according to the company's financial report.
The Capital Group, which provides financial services to high-tech companies, recorded revenue of NIS 131 million ($44 million), more than double the NIS 62 million ($21 million) it generated in the corresponding quarter last year. Profit in the segment reached NIS 61.5 million ($20.6 million), nearly five times the NIS 13.3 million ($4.5 million) recorded a year earlier.

Capital is one of the largest trust companies in Israel, with approximately NIS 100 billion ($33.6 billion) in assets under trust.
Another area experiencing rapid growth at IBI is its trading platform for private investors.
The platform generated NIS 99 million ($33.2 million) in revenue during the quarter, up 25% from NIS 79 million ($26.5 million) in the corresponding quarter last year. Profit jumped 147% to NIS 47 million ($15.8 million), compared with NIS 19 million ($6.4 million) a year earlier.
IBI has set a target of reaching 150,000 customers by the end of the second quarter of 2028. Its customer base currently stands at 90,000, following the addition of 7,000 customers during the quarter. That was roughly the same number of new customers added in the first quarter, but below the pace recorded in previous quarters of 2025.
Not all of IBI's businesses performed as strongly. The investment house recorded weakness in its pension agency business. IBI controls the Four Seasons Agency and also acquired control of Neto, a large northern agency that collapsed in 2024.
Profit in the pension agency segment fell 40% to NIS 13.5 million ($4.5 million), compared with NIS 22.5 million ($7.6 million) in the previous quarter.
Overall, IBI reported quarterly net profit of NIS 95 million ($31.9 million), up 69% from NIS 56 million ($18.8 million) in the corresponding quarter last year.
IBI's shares were down 2% following the results, although they have gained 79.5% over the past 12 months.
The investment house has a market capitalization of NIS 5.9 billion ($2.0 billion), about NIS 2 billion ($671 million) below its peak at the end of May.
