The Art of Memories: How Paint Your Life is Preserving Handcrafted Family Moments in a Digital World
The company, which remains committed to original artistry, capturing emotional family moments – including imagined ones, like reuniting loved ones across time and space. In an interview, Paint Your Life shares insights on its global expansion and how Payoneer is helping it scale worldwide
In today's era, where AI-generated tools can create a painting within seconds, is there still value in handmade artwork? At Paint Your Life, as well as for its many customers, the belief remains that there is no substitute for one-of-a-kind human-made creation.
"What sets us apart is our ability to combine traditional artistry with innovative technology, alongside our efficient operational system - enabling us to reach global audiences,” says Assaf Kostiner, Paint Your Life’s CEO, who founded the company over 19 years ago.
After receiving a painting of himself and his wife as a birthday gift, Kostiner was inspired to establish a company that connects people with artists. The process is simple enough: First, a customer uploads a photo to Paint Your Life, a graphic designer then creates a mock-up for client approval, before one of the company’s artists begins the work of bringing the portrait to life.
Kostiner adds, "The business was founded with the vision of transforming memories into artistic masterpieces that last a lifetime. We recognized the growing demand for meaningful and personalized gifts and saw the potential to create a more accessible process."

This combination of art and technology allows clients to turn their dreams into reality. For example, Chelsea Gill from New York posted on social media, thanking the company: "Over 30 years ago, my grandfather passed away...our grandmother was a widow for over 30 years before she passed away, and even though she was able to attend my wedding, she didn’t make it to my brother’s. I wanted to give him a memory to hold onto because we know, both grandparents were at the wedding in spirit. Thank you to @paintyourlife for making another masterpiece for me, taking three pictures and combining them into one. We will cherish these forever."
The company has experienced tremendous growth thanks to social media as well as the COVID-19 pandemic, which led people to seek creative ways to overcome physical distance.
The company works with talented artists from across the globe, who turn memories into unique, handcrafted artworks crafted with skill, heart, and precision. To support its growth, Paint Your Life turned to Payoneer, which helps small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) worldwide conduct transactions, manage operations, and expand globally.
“The initial challenges in expanding globally included managing payments in multiple currencies, navigating financial regulations and tax compliance, and setting up a global marketing infrastructure with international suppliers and advertising platforms," Says Kostiner.
"Payoneer has allowed us to manage international payments seamlessly and efficiently. We use Payoneer’s services to pay service providers worldwide, ensuring fast and hassle-free transactions,” he added. “This has helped us save on currency conversion fees on our transactions, simplify budget management, and operate more efficiently with our business partners."
Kostiner shares his insights for business owners considering international expansion: ״Focus on building a strong financial infrastructure that supports global growth. Using international payment solutions like Payoneer can save time, reduce costs, and improve relationships with suppliers and strategic partners worldwide״.
Regarding Paint Your Life’s future goals, he says: ״We aim to expand our operations and further streamline our global payment and operational systems. Payoneer will remain an integral part of this process, thanks to its flexible and efficient global financial management solutions״.
