Melisron CEO Ophir Sarid dies at 54 after sudden illness
Sarid, who led the real estate company since 2019, was diagnosed with a severe illness only about three weeks ago.
Ophir Sarid, who served as CEO of real estate company Melisron until two weeks ago, died on Monday following a severe illness diagnosed only about three weeks ago. He was 54 and is survived by his wife and three children.
Sarid joined Melisron in 2011 as CFO, overseeing the company's financial and business operations. In October 2019, he was appointed CEO.
On September 2, Melisron announced that Sarid was taking medical leave. As his condition deteriorated, the company announced last week that he was stepping down as CEO. Oren Hilinger, Melisron's CFO, was appointed acting CEO pending the appointment of a permanent successor. The company has already begun the search process.
Melisron said in a statement: "The company's board of directors, management, and employees mourn his untimely passing. As a leading, proactive, and professional CEO, Ophir steered Melisron with determination and consistency toward growth, making a significant contribution to solidifying its position as a leader in the real estate market."
