"We are entering a defense era," says Menny Shalom, CEO of T3 Defense. According to Shalom, the uniqueness of the defense sector from an investment point of view lies in a lack of price sensitivity and exceptionally long procurement cycles. "If we need a tank, submarine or an anti-drone, we buy it whatever the price is," Shalom explains. The conditions have proven conducive to a unique opportunity for T3 Defense, which operates as a holding company identifying and acquiring what Shalom calls the "relevant building blocks" of today’s battlefield.
Shalom spoke with CTech’s Amy Shapiro during the Defense Tech Expo 2026 in Tel Aviv (February 17, 2026), an event that underscored the significant shift of the Israeli technology sector. In the wake of October 7, Israel’s defense sector has experienced a maturation, accelerating from a period of rapid adaptation to a sustained "gold rush," driven by battlefield-proven solutions and a global increase in defense spending.

T3 Defense utilizes a rigorous vetting process involving 22 specific criteria to monitor a global pool of 440 potential targets, focused on identifying "irreplaceable" subcontractors within complex supply chains. Shalom further explains that success in this sector requires looking past the "Excel file" to focus on the underlying product and the people involved. "We go and buy those building blocks," Shalom says, providing the financing, management, and marketing needed to "explode them in a good way, meaning to give them what they need in order to grow globally."
