Jessica Sellam, Head of the Private Markets Group at Rothschild & Co, flew in from Paris for Calcalist's annual Tech1 conference at Expo Tel Aviv, where she spoke with CTech's Amy Shapiro.
Sellam named defense and cybersecurity as the Israeli sectors most likely to attract funding. She said AI's impact will depend on how agile each company is rather than on its sector, and described how Rothschild uses AI in its own banking business.
On deals, she said there is more money than opportunities, so investors will grow more selective across IPOs, strategic acquisitions and private equity, while founders get the luxury of choosing the right partner.
