CopilotKit raises $27 million to build infrastructure for AI agents
The startup’s open standard has already been adopted by Google, Microsoft, and Amazon.
CopilotKit, founded by Israeli brothers Atai Barkai and Uli Barkai, has raised a total of $27 million, including $20.5 million in a Series A round and $6.5 million in Seed funding.
The rounds were led by Glilot Capital Partners, through its Glilot+ growth fund, alongside NFX and SignalFire.
The company is developing open-source infrastructure for building AI agent–based applications. It has also introduced AG-UI, an open standard that defines how AI agents interact with users within applications and software products.
CopilotKit aims to enable applications in which AI agents operate as a native, integrated component across dashboards, enterprise systems, mobile apps, developer tools, and real-time collaboration environments.
The AG-UI standard has already been adopted by major technology companies including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Oracle, as well as by leading AI libraries.
Looking ahead, CopilotKit plans to expand its platform with an analytics layer for agent-based applications, as well as a self-learning capability that will allow AI agents to continuously improve based on real user interactions.
CopilotKit is a U.S.-Israeli company headquartered in the United States, with a development center in Israel employing 25 people. The company was founded in 2024.
Atai Barkai, the company’s CEO, has extensive experience building large-scale developer infrastructure. Prior to founding CopilotKit, he led the development of media infrastructure at Meta and previously led the development of flagship applications at Doximity. Uli Barkai leads the company’s growth, partnerships, and ecosystem efforts.
Following the funding, CopilotKit plans to expand its operations and development team in Israel.
