“Cybersecurity is still the gift that keeps on giving”
Glilot Capital Managing Partner Nofar Amikam explains why the cyber sector is in a "perfect storm".

“I think that cybersecurity is still the gift that keeps on giving,” said Nofar Amikam, Managing Partner at Glilot Capital. When asked what sector she would focus on if building a VC fund from scratch today, Amikam explained that cyber is in the midst of a “perfect storm.” New tech is simultaneously empowering hackers at unprecedented rates, while also enabling cyber companies to automate tedious manual security work. Ultimately, when it comes to backing local entrepreneurs, Amikam believes “cybersecurity is definitely their competitive edge.”
Amikam spoke with CTech’s Amy Shapiro during the Summer Cocktail event in Tel Aviv hosted by Fusion VC, an event that drew together some of the most prominent venture investors in Israel.
Amikam commented that in the automation revolution she finds it "hard to invest in a company that does not leverage AI" or address the new challenges it creates. “AI is not a bad word, it's not a feature, it's really the foundation of the next gen software,” she said. However, while AI has made building a product easier, she believes that “the hard part today is to build a defensible and agile company.” With the AI era making the market more volatile, Amikam notes that go-to-market execution is “far harder than ever before.”
