A Designed Skincare Experience: SKIN Opens Its Doors in Modi'in
An innovative clinic combining technology, natural materials, soothing atmosphere and luxurious feel
In the modern world, skincare spaces have become more than just functional places for cosmetic treatments. They have transformed into sanctuaries of tranquility, escapes from the busy everyday life, where one can disconnect for a moment and dedicate time to self-care. The new SKIN clinic in Modi'in perfectly embodies this approach.
Behind the stunning design stands Pozner Studio, which specializes in designing spaces that combine aesthetics with functionality. The design concept of SKIN was based on a simple yet powerful idea: creating an envelope that wraps around clients from the moment they cross the threshold until the end of their treatment.
Two Worlds Under One Roof
The clinic is divided into two main areas with different design characteristics that complement each other. The public space is bright and open, inviting visitors to take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The reception desk made of Corian creates a delicate mashrabiya effect, providing visual separation without blocking the flow of light and space. Japanese-style wooden partitions complete the subtle division between different areas, while maintaining a sense of spaciousness and openness.
In contrast, the treatment rooms area offers a more intimate experience. The peripheral corridor, with its vaulted ceilings and concealed lighting, is coated with natural mineral plaster creating a feeling of a minimalist, embracing "cave." This is a transitional space that disconnects visitors from the outside world and prepares them for the treatment experience.
The consultation and treatment rooms are framed with sophisticated electrical glass that changes its state according to need – transparent when the rooms are not in use, and frosted during treatments, allowing complete privacy for patients.
Precise Material Palette
One of the impressive aspects of the clinic's design is the precise choice of materials. The studio created a monochromatic palette with touches of orange, conveying quiet elegance alongside warmth. The porcelain granite flooring in sandstone shade, wall coverings of natural mineral plaster in various textures, and the use of natural-toned oak wood in carpentry items – all combine to create a uniform and inviting appearance.
In the treatment rooms, curved niches with built-in carpentry and concealed lighting create a feeling of a warm embrace. Here too, the emphasis is on clean lines, a limited selection of materials and colors, and a focus on functionality that serves the main purpose – a relaxing and effective treatment experience.
Lighting as a Central Element
The lighting in the clinic plays a significant role in creating the atmosphere. Soft and mostly concealed, it emphasizes the architectural lines and creates a sense of depth and space. In the corridors, hidden lighting strips illuminate the curved ceilings, and in the treatment rooms, the lighting is adapted to the type of treatment and various needs. The light is not glaring or intrusive, but supports the creation of a relaxing and intimate atmosphere.
Holistic Customer Experience
Beyond the impressive aesthetics, SKIN's design serves an important purpose – supporting a holistic customer experience. The space is designed so that each stage of the visit, from entrance to exit, feels like part of one complete and continuous experience. The varied seating areas in the public space allow visitors to acclimate and relax before treatment, and the gradual transition to more intimate areas helps create a sense of security and comfort.
The design not only serves the functionality of the place but also supports the entire treatment process. It is a space where people feel safe, relaxed, and valued – a place that is more than the sum of its parts.
SKIN clinic is an excellent example of how meticulous design can serve a dual purpose – creating a space that is both aesthetic and functional, while simultaneously enhancing the customer experience and supporting the treatment process. In an era where self-care has become an integral part of modern lifestyle, such spaces are becoming not just places for treatments, but sanctuaries of tranquility and calm within busy lives.
