"Everything needs to be built for agents and not for human beings"

Shachar Fienblit, co-founder and Chief R&D Officer of VAST Data, spoke with CTech's Amy Shapiro at Calcalist's annual Tech1 conference at Expo Tel Aviv.
His company builds the data platform layer of what he called "the AI factory." Fienblit said AI's early, capital-heavy focus on training was not a natural fit for Israel, but the move to inference, where agents and critical applications get built, opens the door for Israeli companies.
He also discussed why dynamic companies that work closely with customers will come out ahead, the scale of data now needed to feed GPUs, and VAST's plan to take its AI operating system from the largest AI builders to enterprises.
