Cyber unicorn Semperis acquires MightyID in $20 million identity security deal
The acquisition expands resilience for cloud and hybrid Active Directory environments.
Semperis, a company specializing in identity-based crisis management, is acquiring MightyID, a startup focused on identity resilience for cloud identity providers. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is estimated at approximately $20 million.
The acquisition enables Semperis to expand its capabilities, providing identity security and crisis management across environments including Microsoft’s hybrid Active Directory. The integration of MightyID into Semperis’ identity resilience platform will give organizations managing hybrid identity systems a broader and more comprehensive set of tools.
“This strategic move furthers our mission to help organizations achieve true cyber resilience,” said Mickey Bresman, Semperis CEO. “Effective defense means resilience, not just prevention, so operations can continue, even under attack. This acquisition advances our leadership in identity-driven security and crisis management, helping organizations ensure mission continuity in the face of modern cyberattacks.”
Semperis serves more than 1,000 organizations, including government agencies and over 25% of the 100 largest U.S. companies. The company protects critical identity systems and helps organizations prevent, respond to, and recover from identity-based cyberattacks.
Headquartered in Hoboken, New Jersey, Semperis was founded in 2015 by CEO Michael Brezman, Chief Technology Officer Guy Teverovsky, and Matan Liberman, who serves as executive vice president of business development and leads the company’s Tel Aviv branch. Semperis employs around 600 people, including 150 in Tel Aviv, and is expanding its development center in Israel while recruiting for additional positions across multiple fields. At the same time, Semperis is opening a new branch in northern Israel.
