Taboola lays off 100 employees, 5% of workforce

The company continues hiring as it accelerates DeeperDive expansion with major media partners.

Online advertising company Taboola is laying off about 100 employees in Israel and around the world, Calcalist has learned. The company currently employs about 2,000 people, of whom roughly 700 are based in Israel. Despite the restructuring process, Taboola is continuing to recruit new employees in parallel.
The company recently announced the global expansion of DeeperDive, its GenAI-based “answer engine” powered by leading publishers worldwide, including Gannett | USA Today Network, India Today, and BuzzFeed Asia. Since its launch in late 2025, DeeperDive has seen rapid adoption among both advertisers and readers across the open web. The product is a key pillar of Taboola’s roadmap for AI-powered agents.

Taboola closed 2025 with revenues of approximately $1.9 billion and net profit. The company issued a positive forecast for 2026, expecting continued growth in both revenue and EBITDA.
"I believe the AI landscape will ultimately be defined by two models: subscription LLMs and ad supported LLMs," said Taboola CEO Adam Singolda earlier this month. "With DeeperDive, we have the opportunity to build the largest ad supported LLM for the open web, free for publishers and free for users, creating a powerful new supply opportunity for advertisers and a meaningful new revenue stream for publishers."
