“The war is not a minus, it's a plus” for Israeli defense and cyber tech

According to Sullivan & Worcester partner Oded Har-Even, despite shifting geopolitical sentiments, Israel's technological superiority in cyber and defense continues to outweigh political friction for global investors.

“I think a lot of people may not be fans of Israel in this current environment. Even in the US you see the divide between Democrats and Republicans with respect to the war. And a lot of the Democrats that don't favor the war don't favor Israel even more because of that. But when it comes to technology, at the end of the day, it's the technology that talks,” said Oded Har-Even, Partner at Sullivan & Worcester.
Har-Even spoke with CTech’s Allon Sinai during the Calcalist and Bank Leumi Mind the Tech New York 2026 conference. He spoke on the current appetite for Israeli companies in the US market, in light of the current geopolitics.
“Israel became a superpower for cyber companies,” he said. “The same goes for defense tech. Even now you see a lot of defense tech coming out of Israel. And the war in this regard is not a minus, it's a plus.”
“I think when it comes to technology, Israel still has a lot to offer and when it comes to good technology, especially in these fields, and a lot of investors will look for Israeli technology. And in other places, other sectors, it really depends on the technology and on management of the company, whether people follow them or not.”
