The acquisition will upgrade the software and services portfolio offered by Echo. Minimus competed with Echo in the field of secure infrastructure for enterprises and software supply chain security. Each of the companies developed a secure software infrastructure for enterprises, with the aim of preventing security breaches at the software construction stage, instead of discovering and fixing them after the fact. The companies took common open source software components, to automatically check and fix security weaknesses in them, and to provide organizations with clean and secure versions that can be integrated directly into their systems. Thus, instead of development and security teams having to deal with thousands of vulnerabilities and make manual fixes, it is possible to use software components that have been hardened and continuously updated from the start.
“Minimus built a significant technology around a problem that both they and we believe is fundamental. When it became clear that Minimus was winding down, we saw an opportunity to ensure that the work they had done would not be lost,” says Eilon Elhadad, CEO and co-founder of Echo. “We are bringing the best of what they built into Echo, while also giving their customers a way to continue using secure software.”
“When we made the decision to wind down Minimus, our top priority was finding the right home for the technology we had built, and first and foremost, the right path forward for our customers,” said Ben Bernstein, co-founder and CEO of Minimus. We share the view that software should be secure by default. We are confident that our technology and our customers are in the right hands.”
Echo was founded in 2025 by Eilon Elhadad and Eylam Milner, serial entrepreneurs who sold their previous startup to Aqua Security for $100 million. The company raised $50 million in Seed and Series A rounds from investors Notable Capital, N47, Hyperwise Ventures, SentinelOne, SVCI.
Minimus was founded in 2022 by Israeli entrepreneurs Ben Bernstein, Dima Stopel, and John Morello, who sold their previous company to Palo Alto Networks. They raised a $51 million seed round led by YL Ventures and with participation from Mayfield and several of the founders of Wiz: Assaf Rapaport, Ami Luttwak and Roy Reznik.
