“Greece is more interesting for us when it comes to tourism”

Frank Roseen, Executive Director Capital Markets & Member of the Board of Directors, Aroundtown, joined Elihay Vidal at Calcalist’s Israel-Greece conference to discuss real estate in the region

“Greece is a very nice destination for tourists, and over the last couple of years, we have realized that hotels are more interesting when it comes to hospitality and tourism,” explained Aroundtown’s Frank Roseen. “Given what has happened in the last two years with Covid, we believe that the future of the hotel industry is more on the tourist barrier.”
Aroundtown is a pan-European real estate company that focuses on hotel, residential, and office space in Germany and pan-European markets. Joining Calcalist in Athens for its Israel-Greece conference, Roseen shared what makes Greece so special for its hotel prospects.
“The Greece market is more in tourism and leisure,” he continued. “We like to be in this segment more in hotels that are targeting tourists and hospitality, rather than hotels that are for business travelers. If you look at our hotels in Germany, it is more 50/50, targeting tourists but also a lot of business in the past, for a lot of conferences pre-Covid. Now, I think Greece is more interesting for us when it comes to tourism.”
