Cyber veterans from PayPal and OwnBackup land $20 million Series A for agentic security platform
Prime Security accelerates its expansion after winning Black Hat’s Startup Spotlight and attracting dozens of enterprise clients.
Cybersecurity company Prime Security, which develops autonomous AI agents that continuously monitor, assess, and guide product security throughout the entire development lifecycle, has raised $20 million in a Series A round led by Scale Venture Partners, with participation from Foundation Capital, Flybridge Ventures, and Ofir Ehrlich, CEO and founder of Eon. The round brings the company’s total funding to $26 million.
Prime Security was founded in late 2023 by Michael Nov (CEO), Danny Hanga (CTO), Dimitry Shvartsman (CPO), and Matan Markovics (VP R&D). Nov, a former entrepreneur and investor, previously served as head of corporate development at OwnBackup; Hanga and Markovics were directors in cyber development and data products at the same company; and Shvartsman served as a senior director and head of cyber strategy at PayPal. The company employs 25 people in Israel and the United States and is recruiting for development, product, and sales roles in both markets.
Prime Security’s platform enables security teams to identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks at the earliest stage of software development. The solution integrates with leading development tools and provides full coverage across the development lifecycle without introducing delays.
The product was launched commercially in early 2025 and has since won the Startup Spotlight competition at the Black Hat 2025 global cyber conference. Prime Security is already working with dozens of clients, including ThoughtSpot, PayPal, Qualtrics, Bumble, Redis Labs, and others with development teams of more than 200 engineers.
“Modern product development is changing in front of our eyes,” said Michael Nov, Co-Founder and CEO of Prime Security. “We founded Prime to redefine how security fits into this new world, with agentic systems that operate starting at the design phase, not after development. Our mission is to build security that scales with engineering instead of slowing it down.”
