Boarding Pass
RealEye’s mission to help authorities with the human selection process

The Israeli company has raised a total of $1.1 million to help correctional and immigration authorities, intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and the military.

“It has come to our attention that government and law enforcement agencies often gloss over important data during the candidate processing and onboarding procedures,” explained RealEye Co-Founder and CEO Kevin Cohen. “This oversight can be attributed to traditional practices that are susceptible to human error, bias, fatigue, or simply the limited capacity and workload that come with these procedures.”
RealEye, which was founded in 2022 by Cohen alongside CPO Lt. Col. (Ret.) Roy Zinman and CTO Yasha Neiman, is an intelligence and security venture which develops an intelligence-gathering tool capable of identifying alerts and risks for each individual, among other things. It is backed by a government VC fund and is already being used around the world.

“Fulfilling clarity and integrity of information at scale and in short order is indeed a challenge when confronted with tasks that involve a large number of prospects and applicants and a limited amount of time,” he added. “Additionally, the level of detail and depth of information present additional challenges.”

How was the idea born?
Roy, Yasha, and I were introduced in late 2022 through a mutual acquaintance. I had previously founded a startup that specialized in assessing processes and rating candidates for applicant screening. Roy possessed an extensive background and specific expertise in overseeing critical projects within the open source intelligence domain at 8200 (IDF) and Yasha was head of data science in a startup dealing with collecting and correlating open source data for business purposes.
Together we identified the necessity of determining potential hazards and risks within large groups. We have decided to work together in pursuit of our shared objective of providing clarity by developing an intelligence-gathering tool capable of ranking and measuring compatibility, as well as rapidly and systematically identifying alerts and risks for each individual.
What is the need for the product?
It has come to our attention that government and law enforcement agencies often gloss over important data during the candidate processing and onboarding procedures. This oversight can be attributed to traditional practices that are susceptible to human error, bias, fatigue, or simply the limited capacity and workload that come with these procedures.
Furthermore, fulfilling clarity and integrity of information at scale and in short order is indeed a challenge when confronted with tasks that involve a large number of prospects and applicants and a limited amount of time. Additionally, the level of detail and depth of information present additional challenges.
How is it changing the market?
The capability of completely analyzing thousands of prospects in a matter of seconds has also yet to be realized at that level. By collaborating with the research team at the Ziv Meitar Institute at Reichman University, we have made significant strides in comprehending people's behaviors and characteristics.
How big is the market for the product and who are its main customers?
The OSINT (open source intelligence) domain of gathering, processing, analyzing, and reporting data is estimated at over $9 billion and is expected to reach $36.93 billion by 2030. Moreover, it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 22.63% over the forecast period of 2023–2030.
Our primary end users are within the B2G sector and consist of correctional and immigration authorities, intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and the military.
Does the product exist already? If not - at what stage is it and when is it expected to hit the market?
Indeed, the product has been made available to numerous government users in multiple countries.
Who are the main competitors in this sector and how big are they?
There are different solution types for the problems we’re solving, provided by large vendors such as Lockheed Martin, Elbit, MER, and others, many of them use biometrics or some kind of questionnaire analysis, which are more costly in terms of the friction they are causing, and less efficient in the sense they are tackling a very narrow scope of problems.
What is the added value that the founders bring to the company and the product?
Cohen has considerable experience leading ventures. With vast commercial expertise and connections in the realm of business development and sales.
Lieutenant Zinman brings over two decades of experience commanding and leading projects at 8200, specifically in the OSINT space.
Neiman has successfully led data science and machine learning-focused projects in multiple ventures of the same nature.
What will the money coming in from the round be used for?
RealEye, having secured several international clients, is now focusing on its forthcoming seed round fundraising effort, which will be applied primarily to expand its research and development team and advance its technological capabilities.
