Valens names Yoram Salinger as CEO
Veteran executive tasked with accelerating expansion into high-performance connectivity markets.
Valens Semiconductor announced on Monday that Yoram Salinger will assume the role of CEO and join the board of directors. Salinger succeeds Gideon Ben-Zvi, who has led the company since 2020 and will remain on the board.
The leadership change comes as Valens looks to expand its footprint beyond professional audio-video into high-growth sectors such as automotive, industrial, and medical markets. Under Ben-Zvi’s tenure, Valens went public on the New York Stock Exchange.
Salinger brings more than 25 years of experience in global technology companies. He most recently served as CEO of cybersecurity firm Perception Point, which was acquired by Fortinet in 2024. Previously, Salinger led Red-Bend Software. He has also held leadership roles at GreenRoad and Algorithmic Research.
“I was drawn to Valens because of its strong foundation of cutting-edge technology and industry partnerships,” Salinger said. “Valens has leveraged its market-leading position in professional audio-video as a springboard into high-potential markets. With an experienced team and market-leading technology, I am confident we will accelerate growth and strengthen Valens’ position across industries.”
Ben-Zvi reflected on his tenure, noting that the company has posted revenue growth for five consecutive quarters. “Valens’ technology is unmatched, and we’ve only scratched the surface of its potential to transform industries,” he said.
In addition to the CEO transition, Valens is updating its board of directors: Dr. Eyal Kishon and Dror Jerushalmi will step down following the recent addition of Igal Rotem.
Valens Semiconductor’s chipsets underpin a wide range of applications, from professional audio-video installations and next-generation videoconferencing to advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving technologies.
Valens currently has a market cap of around $190 million, losing over 30% since the start of the year.
