The integration is designed to bring Salt’s deep insights into API behavior directly into Wiz’s cloud security platform.
Israeli unicorn Salt Security, a leading player in API protection, has announced an expanded partnership and integration with cloud security firm Wiz, just two months after Google announced it would be acquiring Wiz for $32 billion. The integration is designed to bring Salt’s deep insights into API behavior directly into Wiz’s cloud security platform, allowing organizations to detect, understand, and respond to API threats alongside broader cloud risks in a single view.
The partnership aims to address a growing challenge in enterprise security: as companies increasingly rely on sprawling, cloud-based infrastructure powered by thousands of APIs, traditional tools struggle to identify the full range of vulnerabilities and attack paths. APIs, used to connect applications and services are now among the most targeted and least protected elements in many environments.
"APIs are fundamental to driving cloud adoption," said Roey Eliyahu, Salt Security’s co-founder and CEO. "However, securing API ecosystems within these environments has become a paramount concern."
Salt’s platform focuses on runtime protection, behavioral threat detection, and posture governance for APIs. Through the new integration, these capabilities are now embedded within Wiz’s cloud-native security graph, which gives security teams a real-time map of their infrastructure, including cloud assets, vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and now, API risks.
“The partnership between Salt Security and Wiz gives customers a clearer view of their API risk,” said Oron Noah, VP of Product Extensibility & Partnerships at Wiz. “By combining Salt's API intelligence with Wiz's cloud visibility, we're helping teams better understand which issues matter most so they can reduce risk faster and scale their API ecosystems with confidence.”
The integration reflects broader trends in cybersecurity, where platforms are converging and silos between cloud security, application security, and data protection are breaking down. Rather than treating API security as a standalone concern, Salt and Wiz are betting that embedding it within existing cloud workflows will accelerate both adoption and effectiveness.
