“Generative AI will mature soon,” says Director of AI at NVIDIA
Regarding generative tech, Gal Chechik added: "Today you can create fantastic images, yet they are still hard to control. We will be seeing other types of control where you can doodle or sketch, making it easier to create content"
“Generative AI was really visible this year, and the most exciting thing was generating images. We are expecting these products to mature soon. Today you can create fantastic images yet they are still hard to control. We will be seeing other types of control where you can doodle or sketch, making it easier to create content. I think this will be really exciting, people can create games or 3D worlds much more easily," explained Gal Chechik, Director of AI at NVIDIA, speaking to CTech at Calaclist’s 2023 Forecast conference about the vast potential of generative tech.
Chechik explained the reason robotics and self-driving cars are progressing so slowly. “In these areas we need AI to interact with the physical world. A car, while driving, needs to interact with other cars. It's not just the processing of an image, it needs to respond to other drivers and that changes how other cars react to it - this takes a long time. In order to have a good simulation you need to be really fast and really accurate, otherwise it fails in the real world."
