Wix returns to full office work week, cites collaboration and creativity

President Nir Zohar emphasizes benefits of in-person interaction for problem-solving.

Wix, the Israeli-founded website building giant, is moving back to a full office work week for its teams in Israel, Kraków, and Vilnius, signaling a notable shift from the hybrid arrangements adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic. The change, scheduled to begin February 1, 2026, will impact the company’s roughly 3,000 employees in Israel. Wix employs over 5,000 people globally.
In an internal email shared with staff, Nir Zohar, Wix president, emphasized the impact of physical presence on teamwork and innovation. “The unique energy in the office, the quick chats, the unplanned ideas, the feeling of being around each other – it all makes a real difference in how fast things move, how much easier it is to solve problems and how much more connected we feel,” he wrote.

The company first embraced remote and hybrid work due to COVID-19 and limited office space in Israel. Although a full return to the company’s Campus in Tel Aviv was originally planned for late 2023, it was postponed. Zohar framed the new policy as a carefully timed step toward fostering collaboration and maintaining Wix’s distinctive workplace culture.
Notably, Wix’s Ukraine-based teams will continue remote work, while other global teams, including Customer Care, will receive guidance tailored to local conditions. The company has pledged to maintain flexibility where personal circumstances demand it. “This flexibility isn’t about everyone taking a day at home; rather, it’s based on personal needs and managers’ attentiveness to their people’s needs,” Zohar said, highlighting accommodations for employees with long commutes or family responsibilities.
In a public LinkedIn post, Zohar framed the office return within the broader context of the tech industry. “We’re in a moment where our industry is being reshaped by AI. We need to move fast, continue our growth and the best way is to do this together,” he wrote. The emphasis on in-person collaboration appears designed to accelerate decision-making and creativity as Wix navigates increasing competitive and technological pressures.
Zohar concluded in his email, “Wix has always been at its best when we’re around each other – learning, building, laughing, solving things, creating things. I’m really looking forward to bringing that energy back into the office every day.”
