Rakefet Russak-Aminoach, former CEO of Bank Leumi, has been appointed to the board of directors of U.S. cybersecurity company Rubrik. She will serve on the board alongside senior figures from the global technology and investment industries, including John Thompson, former chairman of Microsoft, who led the search committee that selected Satya Nadella as the company’s CEO; Ravi Mhatre, founding partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners; and Marc McLaughlin, chairman of Qualcomm and former CEO of Palo Alto Networks.
Russak-Aminoach, a managing partner at Team8, founded LeumiTech and the digital bank Pepper. Today, as part of her work at Team8, she leads the establishment and investment in fintech and enterprise infrastructure companies. At the same time, she serves on the board of BNY, one of the world’s largest financial institutions. Until 2025, Russak-Aminoach served as chairwoman of chip unicorn Hailo, which raised more than $300 million, ran into cash-flow difficulties, and was ultimately sold to Microchip for a few percentage points of the investment.
Rubrik is a U.S. data security and AI company that operates a development center in Israel, established following the acquisition of startup Laminar in 2023. The company is currently traded on the New York Stock Exchange at a valuation of approximately $22 billion, following a significant rise in its share price in recent months.
Russak-Aminoach said, “Cybersecurity and the secure use of AI are critical components of organizational stability in the current era, and Rubrik is setting a high standard in these areas.”
Bipul Sinha, CEO, chairman and co-founder of Rubrik, said: “Russak-Aminoach has extensive experience leading financial organizations in complex regulatory environments. At a time when financial institutions are a major target for cyberattacks, her experience leading digital transformation, particularly across global financial systems, will be a significant asset to our board.”
