Palo Alto Networks launches AI service to hunt for cyber vulnerabilities
The new service uses Anthropic’s Claude Mythos 5 and OpenAI’s GPT-5.6-Cyber to continuously test corporate systems.
Palo Alto Networks is launching a new cybersecurity service that uses advanced AI models from Anthropic and OpenAI to continuously search for vulnerabilities across corporate systems.
The service, called Unit 42 Continuous Frontier AI Defense, uses Anthropic’s Claude Mythos 5 and OpenAI’s GPT-5.6-Cyber, alongside open-weight models, to test web applications, application programming interfaces and cloud infrastructure for security weaknesses and potential attack paths.
The service is designed to continuously monitor and test customers’ digital environments as they change, rather than relying on periodic security assessments. Palo Alto said it will also provide recommendations for addressing vulnerabilities, including code-level fixes and virtual patching options.
The launch comes as attackers increasingly use AI to identify and exploit weaknesses in corporate networks, increasing pressure on cybersecurity companies to automate vulnerability detection and response.
Palo Alto said the service will be available globally through annual subscriptions. Pricing will depend on the combination of OpenAI, Anthropic and open-source models selected by customers.
The company is effectively using the same advances in AI that are giving attackers new capabilities to automate part of the defensive process, with the models continuously looking for weaknesses before they can be exploited.
