"Israel is attractive to us because we invest in cutting edge technologies"

Yuki Hashimoto, Senior Associate at Toyota Tsusho, spoke with CTech at the Israel-Japan Conference in Tokyo, noting his company has already invested in two Israeli autotech startups, UVeye and Aurora Labs

"Toyota Tsusho corporation is one of the 17 Toyota group companies and is part of the larger Toyota family," Yuki Hashimoto, Senior Associate at Toyota Tsusho, told CTech at the Israel-Japan Conference in Tokyo. Aside from supporting Toyota Motor's automobile business and other Toyota Group companies, Toyota Tsusho's business is very diverse, spanning industrial, commercial, and consumer sectors. Business areas run the gamut, including industrial raw materials, agricultural products, and high technology.
When asked where Israeli technology fits into the equation, he answered: "Israel is attractive to us because we are starting to invest in cutting edge technologies all over the world and Israel has a lot of great startups in various field such as cybersecurity, automotive, and artificial intelligence. That's why we decided to establish our branch in Tel Aviv in 2019, where I was based for a year and a half."
He also shared that Toyota Tsusho has already invested in two Israeli startups, UVeye, specializing in automated vehicle-inspection systems, and vehicle remote software management company Aurora Labs.
