ShopperAI appoints Unit 8200 veteran Nir Gadassi as VP Operations
Gadassi’s track record includes leading multidisciplinary teams in hardware, software, and AI, as well as spearheading advanced DevOps and automation frameworks.
ShopperAI, an AI retail SaaS platform, has announced the appointment of Lt. Col. (Res.) Nir Gadassi as VP Operations. Gadassi, a former senior leader with more than 20 years of experience in Unit 8200, will lead ShopperAI’s global expansion and oversee large-scale deployment of the company’s AI platform across retail chains in the U.S. and worldwide.
ShopperAI has raised $12 million to date from investors, including Prof. Amnon Shashua (founder of Mobileye) and BRM Capital. In 2024, the company was selected to join the prestigious Google AI for Startups program.
Gadassi served in multiple senior roles in 8200. His track record includes leading multidisciplinary teams on mission-critical projects in hardware (RF, GPU, FPGA), software, and AI, as well as spearheading advanced DevOps and automation frameworks.
“Our growth trajectory is accelerating fast. Demand from U.S. and global retailers is stronger than ever, and our technology is already proving itself in the field,” said Lanor Daniel, Founder and CEO of ShopperAI. “Nir’s experience leading complex operations at scale is exactly what we need to bring ShopperAI to the world’s largest retailers.”
“What grabbed me about ShopperAI is its clarity of impact,” said Gadassi. “After years of leading complex technological programs in the IDF, I was looking for a challenge where execution excellence meets real-world value. ShopperAI delivers exactly that for global retailers: solving a painful, high-stakes problem in a smart, scalable way. I’m thrilled to join the team and help bring this solution to every store, everywhere.”
