Smart label startup Sensos raises $20 million Series A

Israeli smart label startup Sensos announced that it has raised $20 million in Series A funding. Mitsui-backed Magenta Venture Partners led the round and was joined by JAL Ventures, Israel Cargo Logistics and Sumitomo Corporation.
Sensos, which was spun-off from Sony Semiconductor Israel in 2022, has helped dozens of shippers digitize their supply chain, enabling them to run faster shipments, hold smaller inventories and achieve better production planning.

Sensos’ globally-connected labels, which are the size of a credit card, report 6-dimensional telemetry shipment data in real time, without requiring any additional infrastructure. The labels alert on movement, dwell, departure, arrival and do-not-enter zones, allow inventory to check itself in/out without any human interaction and monitor in real time for temperature, pressure, tilt and shock to meet the most demanding regulations or product requirements. The sensor also detects when a parcel is open and closed, supporting automatic proof of consumption and tamper protection.
The company has also developed the Control Tower Platform which interprets millions of data points to distill actionable supply chain alerts.
Sensors’ original prototype was used by German pharmaceuticals firm Bayer, in partnership with Kigen and Vodafone, and has since been purchased by DB Schenker and others
