Empathy announces UK expansion and appointment of Noa Zabar as CFO
Zabar previously served for over five years as the CFO of Artlist, and before that played a key role in Fiverr’s IPO, where she held the position of VP Finance during the offering.
Empathy, which has developed a platform helping people navigate loss and plan for life’s most challenging moments, announced on Monday the appointment of Noa Zabar as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Zabar brings more than two decades of experience in financial management for technology companies. She served for over five years as the CFO of Artlist, and before that played a key role in Fiverr’s IPO, where she held the position of VP Finance during the offering and the accelerated growth period that preceded it. Previously, she was VP Finance at LiveU, as well as a senior manager at EY Israel, specializing in supporting startups with their accounting operations in both Israel and the U.S., as well as auditing NASDAQ-listed public companies.
Zabar holds an MBA with a specialization in financial management from Tel Aviv University, and for the past six years has been part of the mentor cohort in the Woman2Woman program.
Empathy’s platform, currently supporting more than 45 million policyholders across the U.S. and Canada, provides support and guidance for people navigating loss, particularly around the complex bureaucratic processes that follow, from prioritizing tasks to making decisions during one of the most difficult and sensitive periods in life.
Today, in 1 out of 5 life-insurance claims filed in the U.S., the bereaved family receives access to Empathy’s support. Following a successful expansion into Canada last year, the company is now expanding into new markets, entering the U.K. for the first time as an initial step toward broader European presence.
Founded in 2020 by Ron Gura, CEO, and Yonatan Bergman, CTO, Empathy has raised $162 million from investors including Aleph VC, Adams Street Partners, General Catalyst, Index Ventures, and Entrée Capital. The company employs teams across U.S. and Israel.
