“Companies around the world suffer from the complexity and developers are really stuck," says Zohar Einy, CEO of Port.io, an Israeli startup that uses AI agents to streamline software development. Einy spoke with CTech’s Amy Shapiro at Calcalist’s annual Top 50 Most Promising Startups event in Tel Aviv, celebrating the firms that made the list, where Port.io placed sixth among the 2026 cohort.
The inspiration for the company, Einy explains, stems from his and co-founder Yonatan's time in Unit 8200, where they experienced firsthand how manual operations distracted DevOps teams from strategic work. Port.io provides an interface that allows developers to be self-sufficient by "clicking a button and getting whatever they need."
Fast forward, and Einy notes how Port.io has become "an enabler for AI for many companies around the world," including Git, Thomson Reuters, and PWC. He adds: "We are moving companies from manual engineering to autonomous engineering.”
Einy credits the company’s culture for showing "real robustness and the ability to deliver under a complex situation" given the unique challenges of operating out of Israel over the past few years. Ultimately, he adds, "it built us to be undefeatable."
