“It's significant for every country to have sovereign AI. To Nvidia, sovereign AI is having the ability to have your own infrastructure, your own AI models - they could be language, video, speech models - but the ability to own your own data to support your own model and your own ecosystem,” said Liron Freind-Saadon, NVIDIA’s director, head of developer relations and alliances - Europe and Israel.
Freind-Saadon spoke with CTech’s Allon Sinai during the Calcalist and Bank Leumi Mind the Tech New York 2026 conference.
“Think of it like electricity and water. Every nation has their own electricity and water. Every nation should have their own AI infrastructure. It's the ability to really help and innovate and develop different AI use cases, different AI capabilities. It's important for each AI to be sovereign, to have its own data [so that] in order to push the innovation forward, you don't need to rely on anyone else.”
